Welcome to the Seasonal Simplicity Tour of the Herbsthäuser 2019.
Every year in mid-September begins the online autumn tour season. This is the time when DIY and home decorating bloggers decorated their homes for the coming of autumn.
I think the tours are exciting for the fall and not so sad to say a last goodbye to summer.
Today I take part in the. part Seasonal Simplicity Blogger Fall Home Tour, It's a week-long tour that features over 40 homes dressed for fall and ready to inspire you with all sorts of ideas for your own fall decoration.
When you come out Inspiration for mothers, Welcome to In my own style Here I like to find ways to decorate my home in a creative and affordable way, using things I already own and transforming them for the current season.
I'm a fan of the color orange to decorate my home for the fall.
For me, nothing says more autumn than an orange pumpkin, orange mums, orange foliage, and more. I enjoy seeing the vivid color as I look around the house.
It's energizing and makes me smile. I like to remember growing up in a house that was always colorful but warm and cozy when the outside temperature dropped.
When I start to change the decor, I do not go overboard, but rather make something unique on the mantelpiece by reusing items that I already own.
I kept the glass door (Roadside find) that I painted and laid navy on the page I used last fall and last spring and summer.
I removed the green and the flowers and added a mix of artificial autumn foliage and chalk boards in their place – also from another project. White pitchers and a clear wine bottle complete the look.
For those who want to know more about how I made the boards and attached them to the marine door. I will post the instructions on Wednesday of this week.
To see that rust and orange and the comfortable texture of a velvet orange throw pillow make my color-loving brain happy.
On the wall next to the mantelpiece is the sofa on which I played with throws and pillowcases to see where I liked them better. It will never stay that way anymore – I'll put the pillows and throw pillows on other seats when needed.
Even my daughter's daughter, Kindi, who visited on the weekend, coordinates the facility.
Until the weather changes – it's still in the 90s – I put a basket in the chimney filled with artificial autumn leaves. As the temperatures drop, I'll remove the basket and use the fireplace to add cool weather to the room.
Decorating TIP: If you put artificial flowers or leaves in a big basket:
- Fill the basket with plastic bags from the supermarket. Bundle them and fill the basket – 3/4 of the way full, then place artificial foliage in the basket. When you do this, you do not need so many twigs of faux or even real flowers or foliage to make the basket appear full.
I bought two new pillowcases. I wanted to put a leather cushion on this side of the room to make up for the two leather armchairs that are in front of the fireplace.
And this structure is thick and plush … and contributes to the cozy atmosphere.
I made these autumn colored photo blocks so I can easily change photos of my granddaughter Zoe as she grows.
On the coffee table, I made candlesticks inspired by the fall, using items from my pantry.
As a small surprise, I added some deep pink autumn flowers from the supermarket on the side table.
In the foyer of the self-made window mirror, I hung the wreath I used last year on my mantelpiece.
I concentrate my fall decoration in my living room and foyer, but I also like to add a few autumn dabs to my kitchen, like this low-dried hydrangea arrangement for my dining table, which I made with a collapsible basket and hydrangeas from my garden.
I filled the dough bowl behind the sofa with artificial mini squashes that I bought from TJMaxx a few years ago.
Since it is early and autumn is not even here, I will probably add, move and change some things in the rooms until I reach the right feel-good factor to start the breeding season.
Do you like decorating with vivid fall colors, or do you prefer a different cozy color or neutral color scheme when decorating your home for fall?
