According to a shocking new card, obesity is nearly 40 percent in parts of the US.
The map shows that adiposity in adults is at least 35 percent in nine states – Alabama, Arkansas, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota and West Virginia.
In West Virginia and Mississippi, according to the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it is 39.5 percent.
Across the US, only three states have a degree of obesity of less than 25 percent and none of them less than 20 percent.
Colorado, Hawaii and the District of Columbia are the healthiest.
Being overweight costs the US healthcare system more than $ 147 billion a year, and research shows it is affecting labor productivity and military preparedness, according to the CDC.
