I love to bake mini apple pies every season, but autumn and winter are the best times to bake. It seems to warm the whole house. I start the fallback season with some mini apple pie. These are perfect for fall parties, tailgates and even serving Feast for Thanksgiving, This is a personal family favorite and I am very happy to share the recipe with you!

Apple Pie Filling Recipe

I started filling apple pies to my favorite recipe. You can absolutely use canned pate filling. My aim is to make convenience products look pretty. I personally love a cake filling recipe that is cooked before baking. You can use my recipe below or replace in your favorite.

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds of apples of your choice
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Manual:

  1. Peel, core and slice the apples.
  2. In a small pot, add apples, butter and lemon juice.
  3. Cook over medium heat.
  4. Add sugar one at a time.
  5. When the apples are just beginning to tender, add flour, cinnamon and salt. Continue cooking for 2 – 3 minutes. Remove from heat.

Mini apple pie recipe

Well, how to make these apple pie mini! I used chilled pie crusts. They are delicious without all the work. You can replace your favorite homemade crust if you want.

Ingredients:

  • Chilled pie crusts (2 pieces)
  • Wide-mouth Einmachglasdeckel
  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • cutters
  • 12 cups muffin form
  • milk and sugar

Manual:

Spread a cake crust on a lightly floured surface. Use a mason jar lid with a wide mouth to cut a circle. I found that cutting only slightly larger than the lid worked best for a normal size muffin.

Spray the muffin mold with a non-stick cooking spray. Slide the circle of dough into your muffin tin. Fill the tin with cake filling. Cut different shapes out of the remaining pie dough with cookie cutters. Cover your mini apple pie with the cutouts. The beauty of making these cakes is that you can make as many or as few as you want. Brush the tops with a little milk and sprinkle with a little sugar.

Then bake at 400 degrees for 18-20 minutes or until the cake crust is nice brown. Let it rest for about 10 minutes before attempting to remove it from the muffin tin.
