For this month's Thrift Store Decor Challenge, I'm sharing an upcycled side table for your fall porch. This little side table was given to me by a friend, but you can easily find something like that in your local second hand store!
Be sure to visit my friends to see their second-hand store deco projects. Left at the end of this post.
This little girl was around the block a few times. This side table is probably over 30 years old.
Repair side table
The first thing you need to do to get a great old table is to look for loose joints. This repair was pretty obvious.

Gorilla wood glue is my contact point for these simple repairs.
These Kreg Automaxx push bar clamp is so convenient. It is the simplest handlebar clamp ever!
Clean the side table
As the glue built up, I wiped away the dust so the upcycled table could be painted.
Sand error on table
Someone had used a non-slip pad on the tabletop, leaving behind some residue. I used mine Random Orbit Sander , wiped off the residue and dragged again.
Paint side table
Did you see my … color stock? I used some old chalk paint that I had in my stock, the color is buttercream.
After painting the top, I almost stopped here. The look of the table with the two-tone look I really liked.
But I continued. Are you painting the bottom of your projects? Many people do not do that. I think that distinguishes real furniture fins from would-be fins. I hope you paint all the pages!
How to bring a side table with Emery boards in need
I used Schmirgelbretter for a few years for light load. It is really easy to control the burden of large and small projects.
How do you torment yourself with emery boards? You can rub back and forth or pull the emery board along the edge. When you pull the emery board, the pressure will be more natural through variation.
Smooth color with brown kraft paper
Instead of growing, I used brown craft paper to "sand" or polish the table. If you try, you will definitely feel a difference in color before and after rubbing the crumpled brown paper over the surface.
White upcycled side table
This picture shows you the slight alarm that I have made all over the table.
Upcycled Side Table With Fall Porch Decor
The upcycled side table is perfect for the porch in the fall! Have you ever seen mine? Updated Dollar Store Pumpkins? It was sooooo easy to paint them with a crackling look!
