Chanel Hydra Beauty camellia water cream : BEAUTY

It took me a long time to write this review. For one, I have a few things from different brands to try out. Second, I did not want to hurry, because it's skin care. Third, I just did not feel it

The Chanel Hydra Beauty Camellia Water Cream Moisturizing Moisturizer is a camellia-enriched moisturizer that promotes moisture and radiance for natural glow. As Chanel expects, this moisturizer smells. I sincerely hope that Chanel softens its scent in skin care. Maybe something more subtle and less enduring. This is a thicker cream that does not feel heavy or greasy on my normal to dry skin. In fact, when I use it in the evening, I like to add a few drops of Chanel Huile de Jasmine to the moisturizer. The photo below shows my evening skin care cast with Chanel.

Well, my complaint with the moisturizer is, it contains shimmer. Yes, the cream is pleasant and keeps my skin firm, but why is it shimmering? A few years ago, I said that glints have no place in a moisturizer or skin care. It was then about the skin care of Estee Lauder. I still feel the same way. Sorry Chanel. This is not a make-up. I apply this cream before I sleep. Why do I need a shimmering face? In the morning I apply this moisturizer UNDER sunscreen and make-up. The shimmer will NOT be displayed. I mean, to be fair, the shimmer is subtle, yet not necessary. A moisturizer gives the skin shine by keeping it soft and supple. Leave that to the highlighters.

I should not get upset because it's just skincare. I hope that shimmering skin care does not gain momentum, otherwise it would really annoy me. LOL!

As I said, I have normal to dry skin, so this cream sits comfortably on me. Even on a hot and humid day, my face does not look greasy. I think this works for normal to slightly oily combination skin, but this is too heavy for very oily skin. I remember that I always favored gel moisturizers when I had greasier skin. I think this camellia water cream is a good moisturizer that keeps my face soft and keeps dry flakes at bay. Despite the shimmer and the smell, I really enjoyed it in the last few months.

However, I will not buy it as soon as I use it up. My old woman's brain keeps nagging when I use this moisturizer. Every night when I apply my skincare, a quiet voice is heard shouting, "Why is there shimmer ?!"

What do you think of shimmering in skin care?

xoxo Lily
