Last month, Italdesign announced that it had a new car is coming to the International Motor Show 2019. One week after the show, the company released the first picture of the car, which seems to be a sleek coupe.

The car, known as DaVinci, is a concept that introduces a new Italdesign model that is currently in the works. Unfortunately, that's all we've learned from Italdesign, but the preview image provides a number of clues.

In the beginning, it is very likely that the coupe either has a plug-in hybrid powertrain or is a fully electric car. The cap on the front fender is the giveaway. If it is a plug-in hybrid, it could borrow the powertrain of the Volkswagen Group, which owns Italdesign.

The picture also shows some sketches of the car showing the doors of the coupe opening gullwing style. They are massive, with the door starting where the cap sits on the front fender and goes to the rear wheel arch. We also spy on rear seats, which makes us believe that this is a 2 + 2 coupe. Overall, it seems to be a very different animal than Italdesign's first car, the Zerouno Supercaralthough there are similarities.

In terms of design, it is difficult to make a complete judgment with just one angle, but the front clip is somewhat reminiscent of a Lamborghini. Meanwhile, the greenhouse tends to produce a Ford Mustang flair. We reserve opinions when we see the car in person.

The Geneva Motor Show starts on 5 March. To get our full coverage of the show, go to our dedicated hub,
