FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Fred McKinnon releases "Silent Night – Christmas Piano Instrumental"
"Silent Night – Christmas Piano Instrumental" is a brand new instrumental album released this month by Fred McKinnon, Pianist & Composer. Fred was the original founder of TheWorshipCommunity.Com and spent decades working in music, directing and arranging, composing and producing music.
The album was released on November 30 and spent two days in the "Top 100" of the Apple iTunes "Holiday" charts. This week, it was ranked # 10 in Billboard Magazine's "New Age" charts.
"Silent Night" is the long-awaited Christmas piano instrument by Fred McKinnon. It is his fifth piano instrument. The album contains two original compositions, including "The First Snow" and "The Coronation".
Other popular, traditional Christmas carols make this album a varied group of original and traditional Christmas carols with different arrangements.
What kind of a child is that?
Oh, come all you believers
The first snow
God rest your merry lords / Carol the bells Medley
The album opens with Fred's own jazzy arrangement of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," which will instantly put you in the Christmas spirit.
The title song "Silent Night" is one of the songs on this album, which is exclusively solo piano without accompanying instruments. This peaceful arrangement has a sweet, lullaby feeling and is worshiping and awesome.
"What Child Is This" is one of Fred's favorite Christmas songs. It is one of the classics and offers a wonderful waltz arrangement with double bass and violins.
Back to the simple solo piano, Fred plays his arrangement of "O Come All Ye Faithful".
Next is one of two original compositions by Fred McKinnon on the album. The First Snow was originally recorded as a sequel to Fred McKinnon's Worship Interludes Podcast, a solo piano instrumental podcast featuring gentle instrumental music for prayer, meditation, worship and relaxation.
"God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen / Karolina the Bells" is a fun jazz arrangement that Fred arranged years ago to play in his church during the "walk-in" times before the Christmas service. It has been a standard in pre-service music for many years and is a lot of fun. It begins with a jazz interpretation of the traditional song "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and then goes on to a short interpretation of "Carol of the Bells" – "TSO" (Trans Siberian Orchestra)!
James Luna, a special guest guitarist, performs on this track with fantastic guitar work and an incredibly tasty jazz solo, before Fred takes the lead for his own jazz piano solo.
The last piece, "The Coronation," contains a complete orchestra and was composed several years ago as a service for Christmas Eve in a local church where Fred worked.
