The House of Representatives has agreed June 12 to be considered a day of democracy in Nigeria.

The approval follows the adoption of a report on a bill amending the 2004 Holidays Act.

In light of the report in plenary on Thursday, the legislator endorsed the changes recommended in the report to three clauses of the law.

One of the clauses was canceled on 29 May as the Day of Democracy and replaced by 12 June.
