Evolve Automotive knows something about the BMW M2, They've optimized M2s since they were sold, and evenM2 GTSFrom Art. So you had a lot of time behind the wheel of the M2. That makes it interesting to see what they have to say about the new BMW M2 Competition.

The M2 competition you see in this video is not fully stocked as the owner of the car has mounted the Bilstein Clubsport suspension. So it should be a bit stiffer, a bit sharper and a bit more powerful. Nevertheless, Evolve has driven many standard M2 with aftermarket suspension, so it should still be a relevant comparison.

Especially with the engine. That's really the biggest change between the standard M2 and the M2 Competition is the engine. Instead of the N55 3.0-liter turbocharger I6 of the standard vehicle, the new M2 Competition receives a S55-3.0-liter twin-turbo engine from the M3 / M4. While the former made 365 hp, the latter made 405 hp. So it's a bit faster.

The most interesting thing about the engine is that BMW seems to have adjusted it to deliver its power calmer and more linear than the M3 or M4. So it is said that it feels easier to drive fast and be less spiky. That's remarkable, according to Evolve, who immediately says it feels limited compared to the M4 he drives often. And that could be because he misses the instant low blow of the M4. This is a welcome change for the smaller M2.

It's an interesting video highlighting the differences between the regular M2 and the new improved. Especially from someone who regularly drives an M2 and an M4. Take a look at the other Evolve BMW models, such as the Project Viper M3.
