Our President, The Finnish president said something Believes that the snow-covered country has fewer forest fires than California, because they operate forest management rake leaves in the wilderness, That's shocking, is not it?

Like the New York Times reportsFinnish forests benefit from a combination of luck and not silly forest management:

  • Finland is cold and snowy, while California is mostly hot and dry. (The summer temperatures in Finland are rarely over 60 degrees Fahrenheit, and at this time of the year the weather is mostly wet.)
  • Forest roads run through Finland's forests, slowing down fires and giving firefighters easy access.
  • Aviation clubs are paid for fire surveillance and look for fires from the air.
  • Finnish forest managers remove some of the dead trees (not leaves) to remove a small percentage of the flammable material.

Maybe we could learn from Finland's strategies, but California will not get wet or slow by any noise Santa Ana squirms it fires the flames and does not kill forest fires in places that, like Malibu, are not really forest.
