Renault ZOE achieves 61% of electric vehicle car sales in France

Sales of plug-in electric cars in France in October at 27.7% to 4630 Applications due to higher demand for all-electric models, as plug-in hybrids had a small step backwards.

In total, more than 36,000 plug-ins were sold in France in the first ten months of 2018, which is not high growth compared to one year (just a few percent).

Renault ZOE, with strong 1,745 Registrations (plus 125%) were of course the best-selling electric vehicle, but also accounted for 61% of the all-electric passenger market, followed by the Nissan LEAF with 410. Other models are by far the third best – smart fortwo electric – only reaching 108 registrations. It could even be said that ZOE was superior to other electric vehicles in France compared to Tesla Model 3 in the US compared to recent years.

The two major new models – Jaguar I-PACE and Hyundai Kona Electric – had 40 and 36 approvals, respectively. Tesla, however, found only 30 (23 Model S and 7 Model X).
