The Senator representing Bayelsa East, Ben Murray-Bruce, has condemned the security forces' decision to search the plane of Democratic People's Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.

The PDP flag bearer, who returned to Nigeria just after his stay in Dubai, indicated that he was implicated by security forces.

Ben Bruce condemned the harassment of Wazirin Adamawa.

He called on President Muhammadu Buhari's government to leave him alone and not turn Nigeria into a "dictatorial state."

The legislature of Bayelsa wrote:

"I totally condemn this ruthless harassment of Atiku, Democratic People's Party (PDP) candidate, when he landed in Abuja.

"Nigeria is not a fascist state. We will not return to a jackboot dictatorship. This government should face Abubakar in the elections, not by force. "
