Tennis player Serena Williams was recently named Brand Visionary by Adweek, and left the company in style last night 2018 Adweek's Brand Genius Awards which took place on Wednesday evening (7th November) in Cipriani, New York.

She was supported by her husband Alexis Ohanian During the event, she was honored by the Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour,

Anna Wintour has given a touching tribute to the stage:

When I first met Serena Williams, she was a tennis champion with incredible stamina. Now, at the age of 37, she is still a tennis champion of unbelievable persistence and strength – including wife and mother and a role model for millions of women. Being always up front, she is often the first to jump in moments of tension, as we saw at the US Open. What made me most proud of was the way Serena celebrated the victory of Naomi Osaka, a young player who grew up in awe of Serena. It was a win bigger than the match. She has always been a No. 1 tennis player. But in the Serena year and with this award tonight, we celebrate an even more impressive achievement: becoming a woman far beyond her multitude of victories.
