A Dauda Yakubu, arrested by the Nigerian State Police Command, has revealed that he has beheaded the motorcyclist because he refused to give up his motorcycle.

The suspect, who later gave up his victim's motorcycle, was arrested after the elder brother of the late Amos Sunday reported to the police that his brother did not come home from work.

An investigation initiated by Lapai Division police led to the arrest of the suspect who still had the deceased's motorcycle in the village of Kagbodu, Lapai County.

The suspect, who confessed to conspiring with a now-released Mohammed Yunusa to attack the victim, added that he would not have killed Sunday if he had handed him his motorcycle without a fight.

"He refused to give me his motorcycle; So I got angry and we beheaded him and drove off with the bike.

"I do not know what came over me. We are from the same state (Kogi), but we live in the Niger state. How do I explain to my relatives? he said".

When asked if he wanted to use the victim's head for rituals from Punch's correspondent, Yakubu said.

"I could not use my relative's head for rituals. our culture forbids it; it was the devil who made me kill him. "

The press officer of the Nigerian state police, Muhammad Abubakar, who announced that the police were tracking down the escaping Yunusa, confirmed the incident on Sunday, adding that the investigators had recovered Sunday's body and motorcycle. According to him, the case will be brought to trial after investigation.
