Muhammadu Buhari met on Tuesday in the Presidential Villa in Abuja with four governors of the South-South geopolitical zone.

The Nigeria News Agency (NAN) reports that the governors who met with Buhari are Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa, Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta and Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom.

It became known that the meeting, which was held behind closed doors, could have discussed the Supreme Court ruling on the oil-bearing states of the Niger Delta on 24 October.

The states of Rivers, Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom had appealed to the Supreme Court by application SC964 / 2016 in conjunction with application SC964 / 2016, submitted by their main representative, Mr Lucius Nwosu, to the Supreme Court. The section has mandated the federal government to adjust the federal revenue portion as soon as the price of crude oil exceeds $ 20 per barrel.
