Here we have one 1987 Ford Mustang GT, colloquially known as Foxstang for its Fox platform and Mustang badge. Introduced in 1978 as a replacement for the Mustang II, the third generation Mustang took a platform, drive and even a blow from the Fairmont, which was unveiled a year earlier. In the absence of the Mustang's traditional styling cues – scooters, horse logos, and three-bar tail lights – the new Ford pony still proved a success, surpassing even GM's Camaro AND Firebird in one point.

The Foxstang would last for a remarkable fifteen years before being ousted by the SN94. This model still used a derivation of the original Fox platform and would remain on the market for another decade. That's 25 years for what is basically a model series.

You could imagine that over the course of these two and a half decades, many Mustangs would leave the Corral and you were right. The Foxstang generation also saw that Ford returned to the pony performance and not only gave the people the glances, but also the balls that were put behind them.

At the height of the reign of this model you could get a pretty decent powerful V8 backed by a strong manual gearbox and fairly well located solid axleback. This 1987 GT comes in two-tone gray over silver and with an absurdly red interior. It boasts a staggering 18,000 miles on the clock and looks remarkably clean for its age. He does not suffer from it. It makes sport aftermarket headlights and turn signals forward, while behind it will be what Cobra taillight panels claim. The color is shiny and the entire panel seems to be intact. The big option here seems to be the T-tops, and these are supposed to be leak-free, which is nice.

Also, the interior is in good condition, with a checkered cloth on the sports buckets and the rear bench and a two-spoke steering wheel as Spülwasserpumpe. An aftermarket head unit sits in the dashboard, but otherwise everything looks pretty good here, right up to the expected door levers that have melted out a bit, because they all do.

Mechanically, the car comes with a 225 hp / 300 lb-ft 302 V8 torque. This fuel-injected mill is about as easy as you want and should prove pretty hefty as there is not much that can go wrong with them. The display indicates the addition of BBK headers and some Borla exhaust bits. It also claims a new clutch, oil pump (!), Main seal and brakes. All in all, it seems a well sorted, though criminally underused ride. What could that be worth?

As I mentioned at the beginning, Mustangs are considered one of the best values ​​in high performance vehicles. You can go into a stang for a few measly dollars and then build it the way you want. In this way it resembles the salad bar at Souplantation, only without the possibility to catch Shigellosis.

This is one of the most beautiful Foxstangs you can find, and it is also the GT of the Extrovert's Delight. The T-tops are just the glass top cherry top.
