For the suspect who uncovered the investigation, the trouble began when he was also challenged in Urue Offong / Oruko as an aspirant of the House of Assembly, promising to repay all the money he collected from the victims on 8 October 2018 had, but could not do this. The suspect eventually hid himself until a series of petitions were issued against him, resulting in the police launching a search for him until his subsequent arrest last week.
In front of the commander of the police commander responsible for the Oron area command, in the presence of the victims and their lawyer, Barr Cyprian M. Afahanam, who in the past chaired the transitional committee of the Udung Uko local government, and Godwin Okponung, chairman of the Oron Union Youth The Wing Security Council, Mr. Tosker Eyo, confessed to, among other things, the crimes and asked forgiveness while attributing them to the devil.

However, the suspect confessed to the police that these allegations were accurate.
The victims' lawyer, Barr Cyprian Afahanam of U. A. Uno & Associates, thanked the police for his prompt response to the petitions that led to the arrest of the suspect. Barr. Afahanam assured the victims that he would contact the police to make sure justice was done.
