Ford and Volkswagen announced that they have one strategic alliance Earlier this year, it seems that the talks are heating up as Ford CEO Jim Hackett tries to cut costs.

The talks with Volkswagen initially focused on the possibility of developing a "commercial vehicle business together". Initial reports indicated that companies focused primarily on a Van partnership. Volkswagen CEO Pablo Di Si confirmed that the talks were "going well" and could lead to a partnership in Brazil.

According to Reuters, Ford and Volkswagen could pool their resources and pool production in South America and Europe. Although the talks are not going on, the report says that Ford Europe is planning to launch the C-Max, S-Max, Mondeo and Galaxy, which could lead to dismissals.
