The strike action started by members of NASU and SSANIP at Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, has been discontinued.
The two-month strike that paralyzed academic activities at the State Polytechnic was initiated by non-academic unions working in the institution.
Less than a week after his resumption as acting chairman of the governing body of the institution, Drs. Samuel Edet breathes fresh air into the state polytechnic, which brings hope back to life as the workers are resumed by the two-month strike.

In a communiqué published at the end of the meeting, both parties agreed to submit the report of the committee on the harmonization of service systems in tertiary institutions to Polytechnic's leadership for implementation.
