Metro, two brothers, Ismail Raheem and Ganiu Raheem, were arrested by the police for allegedly breaking into a shop and carrying away property worth N2.7m.
It was learned that the siblings, Ismail, 39; and Ganiu, 43, on July 3, 2018, broke into a block in Block 1, Alapa Fujah, Surulere, owned by the late Omotunde Alugo.
It was found that the siblings stole four freezers, two refrigerators, an industrial machine, a TV, two electric stoves and a sewing machine with a value of N2.7 m.
Our correspondent learned that the suspects were caught by some neighbors who saw them pulling the items out of the store.
Ismail and Ganiu were indicted on Thursday in Surulere Magistrates Court for plotting, burglary and theft in three cases.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.
According to police attorney Christopher Okoliko, the suspects have committed the crimes with several other persons who are still at large.
He said the violations of paragraphs 287, 309 and 411 of the Criminal Code of Lagos
, 2015 (revised).
The judge, Bola Folarin-Williams, granted the suspect bail of N200,000 with two guarantees in equal amounts, adding that the guarantees should be the kinship of the suspects and held leadership positions.
