The General Overseer of the Church of God, Rev. Chris Okotie, has said that God has asked him to tell the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) that he should adopt him as a consensus candidate in 2019 ,

Okotie explained this on Sunday in his church and explained his interest in the 2019 presidential election.

The clergyman, who presided over and lost the 2007 presidential election, noted that the time for truth and transparency had come in the government.

"Nigeria has become a divided and segregated society as never before.

"The dream of a great Nigeria flourishing in independence, the aspirations and aspirations of the people and the Nigerian Brotherhood, whose ensign dominated the political horizon of independence, all fell into oblivion.

"Times like these require the recruitment of patriotic gladiators, who now have to take the gauntlet to defend the Nigerian dream.

"I have come back from my political hibernation to run for president in the forthcoming elections, and I am fully convinced that Nigeria needs a man who is credible, trustworthy and trustworthy, a God – fearing man who willingly acts with compassion and compassion Embroidered love for the country, which is readily accepted as a symbol of national unity.

"I believe that benevolent grace of God has telescoped these virtues into my person to prepare for me at a time like this.

"In sincere humility and deference to our democratic institutions, I appeal to the APC and the PDP to join this ideal by accepting me as a consensus candidate in the next elections.

"I respectfully ask the APC and PDP, within the bounds of conventional decency, to curb and observe a peaceful break in the commonality of the Nigerian Brotherhood, and hug me as consensual remedial workers," Okotie said.
