So far Rebel became known as Platform which allows marketers to integrate interactive elements into their e-mails . Today it launches a new version of its API that allows developers to create whole emails, interactively or not.
"Our customers were thrilled to be able to produce these convertible modules in bite-sized pieces using our API," said Teplow. In fact, they loved it so much that they started asking, "Can we create the entire email with your API?"
So, Teplow said with the Rebel Lite API that they can create emails with JSON. "without writing a line of HTML."
And yes, this is a developer-only tool, not a drop-and-drop e-mail editor for marketers. Teplow said the industry has become increasingly complex. "Email as a channel requires really tight integration between marketers and developers."
But what's so hard about sending an e-mail? Kevin Dutra, who leads the Rebel product team, said, "The main problem with email market fragmentation on the replay side."
