The all-new Google News experience announced last week on Google I / O is now available to just about anyone. If you have not downloaded the app via sideload or downloaded the update from Google Play, you can do so now.
Just to repeat: The new Google News replaces Google Play Newsstand, so if you love this app, you may want to pause the update for as long as possible. If the new experience is not important to you, expect a "cleaner" look, a "smarter" briefing, and a 360-degree view of big news stories from various outlets, social media, and YouTube. As someone who has used the kiosk twice, I can tell you that I regularly use Google News regularly since the update. It does a pretty fantastic job of showing me the messages that are really important to me, the user interface is really nice and I appreciate the Full Reporting option to see all the different angles on a story. I also feel that doing good news patches me a lot of good work.
