Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar has agreed to rename the College of Education Kangere to the Adamu Tafawa Balewa College of Education, Kangere.

This was published in a statement signed by public relations officer (PRO) Bala Baban Kawu

In the statement, Hajiya Hadiza Usman, the acting registrar of the institution, was quoted saying that the approval of Governor Abubakar was a decision of Bauchi State House of Assembly and the subsequent approval by the State Executive Council followed

on all ministries, agencies and parastatal agencies and commissions to note the change.

The college was founded in 1984 as an adult education institute and expanded in 2015 to the Bauchi State Institute of Education and later to the College of Education.

She recommended, therefore, Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar for his concern for the development of the College.
