Unidentified armed bandits suspected of being in Utuma in the Biase region of the Cross River District on Friday allegedly invaded Ish communities in Arochukwu in the Abia district and killed ten people.
Several Homes Burned Down
The Isu community in Arochukwu LGA of the Abia State and the Utuma community in the Cross River State had recently been arguing over border disputes.

He said: "I received with great shock and pain the news of the recent unprovoked and cruel attack Isu Communities of the Arochukwu Local Government Area in the Abia North Senate District of Abia State
"Testimonies are that Iheosu, Aba, and Amachi communities of the Isu clan in Arochukwu Local Government Area of the Abia North Senatorial District, which are border communities, were divided by armed crooks from Utuma community into Biase Local Government area of the Cross River State with which they invade border.
"The invaders visited massive slaughters in the Isu communities, many lives were lost, houses were razed to the ground, and members of the affected communities now live as refugees in refugee camps in the neighboring communities of Obieze and Ututu.
" The incident is as regrettable as pitiful. I therefore urge the relevant security authorities, including the armed forces, to take urgent action to stop further escalation of the crisis. I also call on NEMA to provide emergency relief to affected communities.
