A less-disguised prototype of the upcoming Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 was discovered on some tests, giving us a first chance to discover the new features of the long-awaited 700+ horsepower version.
Unlike earlier sightings the test vehicle dispenses with the heavy vinyl shell, which has a complete body wrap that leaves little room for our imagination.
Ford's Short Teaser Video shows the 2020 (?) Mustang Shelby GT500 The revised front end has a more aggressive front bumper with larger air intakes and a new bonnet that also has a bulge in the middle.
The rest of the body has wider fenders, lower side skirts and winglets on rear diffuser and a massive front lip. Aerodynamics will be a crucial part of the strongest street-legal Ford ever produced, with the finished Shelby GT500 to also get a rear wing, as seen in the aforementioned teaser video. Under the domed bonnet, we expect a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine capable of delivering over 700 horsepower and the new Mustang Shelby GT500 even more powerful than the exotic GT Supercar, the only 647 hp. It's also expected to offer a manual gearbox that, in combination with the performance of the barrel, is something that should be celebrated by the hardcore enthusiast.
The king of the Mustang range is also expected to offer a range of innovative rail technologies and the right hardware to help him maintain his composure, whether on the racetrack or on public roads.
Ford's Camaro ZL1 nemesis is expected sometime later this year as either 2019MY or 2020MY, but official figures are still limited.
