  UI Postgraduate Programs Entry Requirement

UI Postgraduate Diploma

  • Graduates of the University of Nigeria or other recognized universities
  • Holder of Credit (Upper Credit) level exists at HND or its equivalent in relevant areas (for programs in the faculties of agriculture, business administration, political science departments, public administration and local government, and vocational teacher education); and for Postgraduate Diploma in Election Management Program and Public Administration & Local Government; (19659005) Qualifications such as: AIB, ACCA, ACMA, ICAN, BEEC, CPA, etc. may also be considered for admission
  • Applicants with professional qualifications including HND must have received 5 credits in WASC or GCE O / L with English and Mathematics for Admission to Degree Programs in Business Administration. For the Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture as well as Geo i nformatics and Surveying in particular, candidates with a third degree Honors Degrees are also eligible in their respective disciplines. For the postgraduate diploma in geoinformatics and surveying in particular, candidates with third grade 12 honors in geography, geology and other physical sciences, as well as HND upper credit-level passes in related fields are also eligible.
  • Candidates who possess qualifications as the above, who are acceptable to the Board of the School of Postgraduate Studies and Senate of the University.
  • Please note that in any case candidates must possess the minimum entry requirements for admission to the first degree programs in their fields of interest for postgraduate studies. For PGD in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Architecture, only candidates with a university degree in relevant fields need to apply.

UI Master's Degree

19659012] Admission to the Master requires the following alumni: Graduates of the University of Nigeria or other accredited universities that have earned the bachelor's degree in relevant subjects with at least good secondary rankings.

  • Candidates holding appropriate diplomas from the University of Nigeria with at least credit-level passports.
  • Candidates whose first degrees are unclassified but have scores of 50% or more.
  • For M.Ed degree, candidates with at least a good second-grade individual degree in subjects plus at least a performance certificate for postgraduate diploma in education, or those who hold a third-grade honors degree in education or a single award degree in Courses with at least 5 years of postgraduate teaching experience and Postgraduate Diploma in Education passed at achievement level or higher.
  • For MPA applicants should be in addition to (1) and (2) top administrative / managerial staff in the public or private sector with at least two years of qualification experience
  • holders of professional Fellowship qualifications such as FIMLT, FNILT, NIPR or their by Tests obtained equivalents. Applicants with the above-mentioned professional certificates must have worked for at least three years as Senior Technologist (s) or in one or more equivalent positions
  • Applicants who possess other than the above qualifications required for the University Senate

UI Doctoral degree (Ph.D.)

  • Candidates of the University of Nigeria or other recognized universities who have the appropriate Masters degree for the proposed study programs with a minimum average of 3.50 5-point scale or "B" average, provided that satisfactory research work was part of the Master's program.
  • Demonstrated evidence of completed academic research will be beneficial.

UI Master / Ph.D Program

19659004] A candidate with first grade or second grade (upper level) grades from a recognized university may be admitted to a Masters / Ph.D. program.
  • A candidate with a master's degree f From the university with a grade point average of 3.50 to 5-point or 3.00 to 4-point scale qualify for the Master / Ph.D or Ph.D.
