YouTube launches the first YouTube room in the Middle East and North Africa at Dubai Studio City – Xtra Dubai Magazine Dubai

YouTube announced on Sunday the opening of the first YouTube room in the Middle East and North Africa at Dubai Studio City, an organization dedicated to supporting the growing creative community in the Middle East and North Africa by giving them access to a state-of-the-art production space.

The Space, the tenth place in the world, is dedicated to the creators of YouTube content who, in addition to training programs, workshops and courses, have free access to high-quality audio, video and editing devices. More than 440,000 developers have visited nine YouTube Spaces around the world since the Spaces program was first launched in 2012.

“Creators are the heartbeat of YouTube and their support has long been one of our top priorities. We are proud of the rapid rise of Arabic content on YouTube, led by a diverse and growing community of developers from different parts of the Arab world. We want the YouTube space in Dubai to be a center where developers not only continue to create videos that millions of people love, but also experiment with new formats and ideas that are made possible by the space’s production facilities. As a platform, YouTube offers a blank canvas for creative expression, and the space will be one of the tools that developers can use to tell their own stories, ”said David Ripert, director of YouTube Spaces in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

“We are delighted to be selected as the hub for the region’s first YouTube section. In today’s world, content creation is very valuable and shows meaningful content to the public. With the launch of the YouTube section, Dubai Studio City wants to create a collaborative environment in which like-minded people can create innovative content, cross borders and appeal to a wide and diverse audience. It is important to empower individuals to create and develop content and to work in return for the growth of the industry. We are excited about this new company and look forward to the new opportunities that YouTube offers for our community and the entire region. “Said Majed Al Suwaidi, managing director of Dubai Studio City.

“Over the years we have seen a number of brave and creative people in the region build a large fan base by placing the camera on themselves and sharing their voice with the world.” In fact, five years ago when I visited him, you could count the number of creators with one million subscribers on one hand. Today the region has over 200 channels with over a million subscribers! Said Robert Kyncl, YouTube’s chief business officer.

The Spaces program is designed to support developers at all levels. Channels with 1,000 or more subscribers have access to the workshops and events in Space. Developers with more than 10,000 subscribers can access the production facilities, which include two soundproof studios, processing equipment, state-of-the-art cameras and microphones, and a control room. The workshops address the different needs of developers with topics and topics that range from creative development and production to business development and interaction with advertisers. All developers must complete a one-day workshop before they can access the services of the Space.

Space comes at an important time for YouTube in MENA as the number of channels uploaded from MENA countries in the Arab world has increased by 160% in the past three years. Today there are more than 200 channels in MENA with over 1 million subscribers and over 30,000 channels with more than 10,000 subscribers.

The production slots are limited in the first two months after the start until after Ramadan, if authorized developers can book their production sessions via the online booking form.
