Toyota Kirloskar Motor confirmed last month that bookings for the Toyota Yaris will begin in April this year. According to a report by CarDekho, dealers in Delhi have started making pre-orders worth INR 50,000.
The Toyota Yaris will line up the Toyota Etios sedan (Toyota Platinum Etios) in the TKM lineup. A 1.5-liter dual VVT-i petrol engine will power the sedan with a 6-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission that powers the wheels. This naturally aspirated engine is expected to produce 105 hp and 140 Nm of torque. TKM will not offer a diesel option, at least not for the start.
The Toyota Yaris will have a premium positioning in its segment.
