Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India unveiled its flagship, the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP, at Auto Expo 2018 in Greater Noida. Here are the live pictures of the bike from the show.
The 2018 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP is a lighter, more hardcore version of the regular Fireblade. The Fireblade SP is the first Honda motorcycle to feature semi-active Ohlins Electronic Control (S-EC) suspension. Lithium-ion battery; Quick-release lever with slip clutch and Brembo calipers. The bike is 1 kg lighter than the normal version, at 195 kg, curb. Instrumentation is a multifunctional TFT LCD screen that also displays lap times, lap counts, driving modes and split timings.
The Fireblade is a liquid-cooled 999 cc DOHC engine in series. It delivers 191.7 hp at 13,000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 11,000 rpm. The engine works together with a 6-speed gearbox with slip clutch and quickshifter.
Honda has built the bike with a diamond-aluminum composite twin-spar frame. For the suspension, the wheel uses a semi-active 43mm Ohlins NIX30 SmartEC front fork. It provides preload, compression and rebound adjustments. The rear uses an Ohlins Unit ProLink with a gas-charged TTX36 SmartEC damper. This unit features preload, compression and rebound damping adjustment
The SP edition gets Brembo tip brakes with ABS curves. The on-board electronics wizardry includes Rear Lift Control (RLC); 6-axis inertial measurement unit; Wheelie control; Honda selectable torque control (HSTC). Apart from a three-stage engine brake control, there are several stages of driving modes. At 21,22,190 INR (ex-Delhi), the 2018 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP is about 4.46 LAKHs more expensive than the standard variant
