Google today released its monthly Android market share analysis and we have some big news. For the first time in history, Nougat is the most widely used version of the operating system – which launched in August 2016 almost 18 months ago
It takes the crown from Marshmallow, in fact its predecessor. Nougat is now at 28.5% of the pie (from 26.4%), while marshmallow has dropped to 28.1% (from 28.6% last month ). Lollipop completes the podium and still dominates 24.6% of the market at the time.
While all older versions of the operating system have lost market share, Oreo still wins. At the same time incredibly slow as since the first release last August, but still – it goes up. This month, it has passed the 1% milestone and is now running at 1.1% of all devices. Samsung's early release of his Oreo update for the S8 duo should help drive those numbers even higher.
