A 15-meter humpback whale carcass was removed from Paardevlei Beach near Cape Town's South African beach
The adult male carcass was washed ashore yesterday but the cause of death is undetermined.
The city's coastal manager, Gregg Oelofse, says the Walkadaver would be washed ashore each year for a variety of reasons, in which case it could be due to old age.
Heavy machinery that was transported on the beach early today Ebb raised the heavy mammal to a truck, from where it was brought to the Vissershof landfill.
That was what curious onlookers had to say: –
The thing is it makes me a bit sad, because it's a fabulous creature, it's one of God's greatest creatures and I do not understand where the mouth is what it is and we are all just ignorant.
That's one of the things we're watching on TV. I do not know anything and it would be great if we can be educated about marine life.
