When a party happens and nobody puts it on Instagram, has it really happened? It is a somewhat depressing rhetorical question, but these days, if you are not able to attend the birthday celebration of your friend or colleagues of the house, chances are that you will have a place in the front of the festivities on Snapchat or Instagram Stories can get. And if you go through the bother of putting on a breathtaking meal, laying a special table and decorating your house, you can also go out for some fun.
The planning for a "grief-worthy party" is not just about the satisfaction of the host. Your guests probably want tout that they are at a dinner party that has a real champagne tower or share how cool it is that their pomegranate martini with the bouquet of red lips-helium balloons sent next to the bar fits.
Unless you're deliberately going for a tech-free gathering (a fantastic idea!) The phones are inevitable. So do the best! Here, David Stark, event planner extraordinaire, shares his tips to lore your next party live in Instagram:
Do not spread too thinly
Whether for photos or just for the experience, I'd rather make a few things really, really good, rather than spread décor dollars super thin on small moments everywhere. It is definitely a common mistake to do that. Whether it is a huge spray of blossoming branches at an entrance area or a special furniture vignette, which speaks to an event theme, focus on a few highly effective statements.
Take care how you burst
Serving a buffet or serving a clipped meal is like fashion. There are times when shorts and a T-shirt are suitable (an informal backyard BBQ with disposable harness). Other times, it's a dressier matter (an elegant Thanksgiving feast with your finest porcelain). As dressed, the food you serve is the main outfit, and the porcelain, glassware, serving dishes are the accessories. Mix and match to create the fittest and matching table "outfit" that suits your taste. When you give this kind of thought to the food and how you serve it, you will create visual harmony that will inspire your guests to move away.
Not on a photo booth
That depends on the party and the occasion. If you have an Oscar viewing party at home, a tongue and cheek have "red carpet" and backdrop as a stylistic nod to the celebrations is cheeky, but for any random Saturday night dinner party at home with friends, that could be one Feeling tad competes A floral wall as a backdrop for a wedding reception dinner might feel appropriate in certain attitudes, but at home it is probably downright stupid. Think of your opportunity and whether it will require a bigger statement or a little more keys, and let that lead your staging.
Lighting is important to take photos or not
I think creating a flattering candlelight is an important part of the party experience. It is not great for photos, but smartphones allow us to capture this ambiance nicely, so no need to inflate the lights.
Your dinner party does not need hashtag
It is one thing hashtag signage at a great public event or even list on a website that contains the details for a destination wedding, but sprinkle your house with hashtag signage to promote posting at a personal dinner or Cocktailparty is almost never necessary
