Inspector General of the Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, on Tuesday assured the Nigerians that the police would secure the conviction against alleged kidnap kings, Henry Chibueze and Chukwudumebi Onwuamaegbu, also known as Evans.
Idris explained this during his Keynote address during a security speech in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.
He praised the National Assembly to bring the anti-abduction bill into law and recommend death sentence for offenders.
In the lecture on "Uncertainty, Socioeconomic Impacts and Conflicts, Perspectives of Conflicts," the IGP said that the police would also ensure that all kidnap suspects are prosecuted in court to prevent incessant cases of Abductions and armed robbery in the country.
" I have to say, with humility, that these strategies have worked on the basis of the successes achieved so far. "Most abominable crimes, especially the abduction and the armed robbery that had previously occurred,
"You are too numerous to mention the fate of the infamous kidnapper, Henry Chibueze, aka Vampire, and the billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudi aka Evans, and many others who are arrested and are currently being tried.
"In view of the detailed investigation conducted in these cases, Insha Allah, we must convince them," he said.
