The latest version of the S&P Core Logic Case-Shiller (CSI) Home Price Indices For May, it was reported that the non-seasonally adjusted national index rose 0.97% as prices rose from April, while the non-seasonally adjusted Composite 10 city index rose 0.70% and the Composite 20 city index rose 0 over the same period , 81% have increased.

On an annual basis, the national index rose 5.58% from May 2016, while the Composite 10 City Index rose 4.94% and the Composite 20 City Index rose 5.69% over the same period.

At its peak, the non-seasonally adjusted national index recently surpassed the record high before the Great Recession began, rising 3.24% above the 2006 level, while the Composite 10 index was -6.19% below its high and remained the Composite 20 stayed below -3.66%.
